PPGCL has two research lines: Text and Discourse, and Language and Culture.
The research line Text and Discourse deals with processes of meaning production in their subjective, social, historical and ideological dimensions. The research projects connected to this research line understand that meaning processes always happen int specific and unique social events, activating not only language, but also material determinations.
The research line Language and Culture deals with verbal and non-verbal languages and their correlations in modernity and contemporaneity, as well as with aesthetic and cultural manifestations, with emphasis on the symbolic production and its many supports. Research projects connected to this research line work into an intersection between the fields of Literature, Visual Arts, Drama, Music, Photography, Film, Fashion, Anthropology, and Communication.
